Macomb Township is a civil township of Macomb County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 91,663 at the 2020 Census, which makes it the most-populated civil township in the state. The township was named in honor of General Alexander Macomb, who was a highly decorated veteran of the War of 1812. Macomb Township was also a large part of the lumber and logging industry of Southeast Michigan in the late 19th century and early 20th century. Macomb (or Macomb Corners) is located in the northwest part of the township at 42°4203N 82°5733W on Romeo Plank Road at 25 Mile Road, near the Middle Branch of the Clinton River. Meade is located on the boundary with Ray Township at 26 Mile Road and North Avenue. Waldenburg is located a few miles south of Macomb on Romeo plank Road and the Clinton river, chiefly in the 22 Mile Road area. The town of Meade was once known as Meade Township. The township was once called Meade Town, after the town's first postmaster. The name was changed to Meade after the township was formed in 1872. The Meade Post Office was established in 1876. The post office was moved to its current location in 1881. The last postmaster was killed in a car accident in 1883. The current postmaster is the son of a former postmaster who served in the U.S. Air Force from 1961 to 1973. The village of Meades was founded in 1874. The first post office opened in 1877. The community was named Meade. The city's name is derived from the Meade River, which runs through the town. It was named after Meade, Michigan, a town that once belonged to the United States Air Force. It is now known as Macomb Township, which was once a part of Michigan, and has its own post office and post office.

It has a population center of about 2,000, with the majority of its residents living in the city of Detroit. It also has a number of unincorporated areas, including the townships of Saugatuck and Lapeer, as well as parts of Wayne and Lecompton counties. The city's population is currently around 2,200. It had a population growth of 48% in the period 2000-2008 to 2008, and has a total population of around 3,100, with most of the population living in Saugate County. It's located near the Clinton River, which is the source of the modern-day road that runs down the middle of the township. There were 17,922 housing units at an average density of 494.1 per square mile (190.8/km²) The racial makeup of the township was 96.12% White, 0.84% African American,0.19% Native American, 1.41% Asian, 0,01% Pacific Islander, and 1.12 percent from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.46% of the population. In the township the population was spread out, with 30.2% under the age of 18, 6.9% from 18 to 24, 35.1% from 25 to 44, 20.3% from 45 to 64, and 7.4% who were 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.97 and the average family size was 3.30. The median age was 34 years. For every 100 females, there are 99.6 males. For each 100 females age 18 and over,there are 97.3 males. The township has a population of 50,478. The population density was 1,391.7 per squaremile (537.3/km 2) The township is located in the New Jersey Bay Area and the New York City metropolitan area. It is one of the most densely populated areas of New Jersey. It has the highest rate of obesity in the state.

Education

The public school districts that serve residents of Macomb Township are Chippewa Valley Schools, L'Anse Creuse Public Schools, New Haven Community Schools and Utica Community Schools. For public library services, the Township is served by the Clinton-Macomb Public Library district. The Township is home to the Detroit Lions, the Detroit Red Wings, and the Detroit Pistons. It is also the home of the U.S. Army National Guard, the Michigan National Guard and the Michigan State Guard. The Macomb County Sheriff's Office is based in the town of Clinton, Michigan. The township was founded in 1868 and has a population of 3,000. It was the site of the Battle of the Bulge, which took place in 1875. The town is located on the Detroit River, which runs through the center of the town. It also has a lake, the Macomb River, and a riverbed.
